its gates for a sixday run T u e s da y through Sunday Once again the highlight of the fair will be the appearance of Western TV stars against the background of the World Championship Rodeo The appearance of three stars from Gunsmoke Doc Kitty and Chester will be just one of the top attractions THIS DOES NOT mean how ever that there wont be other features In fact one fair of ficial says this years event should be called The Fair That Offers Something for Everyone Take for instance the grand stand shows for the first three ays Starling things off with a oar will be Gene Holters Wild Animal Show The show fea tures such attractions as racing ostriches with local elephants a pet tiger kanga roos a zonkey cross between a donkey and a zebra and scores of other wild beasts The Holter show will give four performances during the first two days of the show The matinee performances will start at 2 pm with the evening shows getting under way at 8 pm TUESDAY NIGHT Holter will have to share the spotlight with a special parade honoring the opening of the fair Featured in the parade will be the Trail Riders Club of Mason City Also appearing in the parade will be Miss North Iowa Dorothy Schott of Joice and Miss Clear Lake RosemaryChristensen Taking the place of Holters roaring animals in front of the grandstand Thursday will be the roaring autos of Aut Swen sons Thrillcade Long a favor ite of North Iowa Fair crowds the Thrillcade once again brings an outstanding array of dare devil drivers and stuntmen Highspeed crashes breath taking ramp to ramp jumps and exciting motor polo matches are but a few of the thrills fans can expect as Swensons dare devils go through their paces in two performances at 2 and 8 pm QUEENS WILL again play a part in the grandstand show Thursday night Before Swen sons troupe takes to the track a regional Queen of Conser Vation will be selected from among 22 lovelies from U North Iowa counties The win ner of this contest will repre sent North Iowa in the state contest to be neld at Guthrie Center Sept 16 Some of the Midwests hot test stock car drivers will be vying for in prizes in the sevenevent race card which ill be the grandstand show
