understand By LOUIS CASSELS United Press International Some months ago a Protes tant pastor administered a Bible quiz to members of his congre gation The questions were very simple Anyone with a general knowledge of the Bible should have been able to answer all of them easily The results staggered the pastor Only five per cent of his flock made a commendable grade on the test Fifteen per cent failed to give a single cor rect answer Sixty per cent were unable to name the four gospels Seventyfive per cent could not identify calvary as the place where Jesus was crucified SOME CONGREGATIONS might do better than that But not many The vast majority of Americans today are Biblical illiterates They simply have never read the book which they profess to regard as the word of God Why The say go ahead if you had 17000 out of 18000 objectors Someone has to be a leader Sarcone said Sarcone is the enforcement officer for the Polk County Zoning Commission Of course some supervisors might want to be reelected Sarcone said in explaining that the responsibility for getting county zoning lies with the coun ty board of supervisors But youve got to be a leader he said maybe even a defeated
