Burglars loot Home in Galion today were investigating a series of burglaries of gallon Homes which was Cli maxed wednesday night when the Home of mrs. Letha Wood 25 Walker Street was ransacked. Stolen were a Complete set silverware about two dozen stat souvenir spoons and a Combina Tion radio and phonograph according to Robert Wood son mrs. Wood. Police said a link Between the series of breaking and catering was the use of paper Book matches which the burglars used to Light their Way i Homes which was burglarized. In at least three previous Case Burnt matches were found in the rooms of Homes which had Bee broken into. Police said similar evidence also was found in mrs Wood s Home. Wood1 discovered. 13ie burglary about 9 p. M. Wednesday when h returned to the residence. Officials looked up from yellowed documents today and admitted it --752 feet of sewer pipe have disappeared from under their streets. The sewer has appeared on City maps since 1913 when it reputedly was installed and abutting property owners have been taxed for it All this time. Sturdy Man Hole covers lined the route. The mystery developed when Joseph j. Sisca a contractor of nearby port Chester bought a lot 18 months ago on a Corner to build a House. Maps showed sewers run Ning to his Corner from two directions. He finished the House a few weeks ago and then his men be Gan excavating for the sewer. The 1913 maps showed it was four feet underground. Workmen dug four feet. No sewer. They dug further. Still no sewer. They dug in other places. No Luck. They crawled Down a nearby storm sewer manhole. A Dummy. Basil e. Bradner superintend ent of highways for this West Chester county town said his investigation showed the manholes had no outlets and that a sewer ended a away from the Sisca lot. Town officials directed town counsel to discuss the matter with the county District attorney.
