I suspect that the reliable hut somewhat do liberate ox satisfied his ancestors. I met ono farmer near Holyoko drivins his cow homo from the pasture on a bicycle -that is, the man w;i.s on a bicycle .and tho cow was ahead of him ou foot, tiioagh she loofeotl as if sho would appreciate a bicycle, too, as he was speeding her along on a rather lively trot. I stopped'him and asked him if there was any fihow for a farmer to make money in that'section, and while the patient cow leaned against a tree and caught her breaiJi ho replied that there was nono whatever. His grandfather had made money on the farm, he said, but ho coold not. Then he called to tho cow to "hump herself,** and went spinning down the road with the loag sojffering beast making desperate efforts to keep from being run over. ETG. eptl6dti The pride we take in our Cloak Department this season is justly merited, and is being proven to our customers every day when they visit our store andexamine ourstock, whichthis season consists of a larger assortment of fine garments than has ever been shown by any house in this city. Many of these garments are in exclusive styles that are controlled by us only, although some of our worthy competitors make every effort to copy some of our most desirable styles, and try to procure them for some of our customers after we have positively rsfused to duplicate them. They are foiled in their attempt. We are ever watchful of our customers' interest, and in several ca.ses have we defeated their plans, and protected our customers, although our stock of high class garments is very large and varied. Our assortment of the mediums and cheaper grades is the largest shown in the city, and contains values unheard of before in this or any other market in this part of the country. We have an assortment of Children's Coats in ten or twelve styles, sizes from 4 to 12 years, and of good quality of cloth, at 75 cents per garment. Six different styles of Ladies Jackets at $2,00 per garment, that are really worth twice the price. Ten styles of Ladies Newmarkets at $5.00 per garment, that cannot possibly be obtained elsewhere for less than $S.oo. We do not quote prices on the above styles as being the only cheap garments we have, but simply state that we can supply all clascs of trade with Coats and Wraps,'in qualities and styles that are above the average for the money the customers are desirous of spending. Plush Coats Jackets. Plush garments have come in for a good share of our attention this season and we are now prepared to show styles that are entirely different from those of other seasons, both in trimmed and untrimmed garments. We handle only Walkers English Plushes that give the best satisfaction to the purchasers, and in finish and appearance can hardly be detected from the finest Alaska London dyed Seal Skin. These goods were purchased by us before the enormous advance in price was demanded by the manufacturers, and are being offered at prices that are lower than we could purchase the .^aine garments for to-day. Astrakhan, Clotli and Fur Capes. Our assortment of Capes is still very complete and comprises all the desirable furs of the season. Space will not permit us to go into detail, but will just mention a few things: Black English Hair Capes - - $ 5 00 Astrakhan Cloth - 6 00 Plush and Astrakhan (fur combination) 7 50109 00 Astrakhan Fur Capes - lo co Belgium Coney Fur - 12 00 We also have in stock Muffs to match all these popular styles of Capes. We have added to our already large stock of Fancy Goods, a full assortment of Senora Saxonys and German-town Wools. We are special agents for Hall's Bazar Dress Form and Butterick Patterns, and carry a full line in stock at all times. Low prices, the largest assortment of gorods, at all times CO select from, and our original way of doing business is taken as a copy by some of our competitors, who imitate our way at all times. This fashion of copying our styles is very flattering to us and keeps us at the head of the dry goods business in the city. LVERETT & GO., BEE HIVE, 16 EAST MAIN STREET.
