Lethbridge Herald, The (Newspaper) - September 25, 1974, Lethbridge, Alberta Wednesday, September 25, 1974 THE LETHBRIDGE HERALD Dandelions, pigweed rich with vitamin C VICTORIA (CP) Dandelion leaves are dandy when you are on the road The humble little weed that gets clobbered by ardent gardeners could be one of the best friends travelling youth can have as they take to the highways in summer When stomachs grumble and the budget is bent out of existence dandelion leaves combined with other natural foods could border on nectar The virtue of the dandelion is extolled in a voluminous tome which has taken local phwcian Joseph Haegert two years to complete Designed to help those who drop in at Victoria s Cool Aid free medical clinic the book spells out how kids can remain hale and heartv even when there is no ham- burger stand for miles Along with dandelion greens.
