Lethbridge Herald, The (Newspaper) - September 22, 1971, Lethbridge, Alberta Stock prices dip in active trading TOEONTO (CP) Prices on the Toronto stock market were mixed to moderately lower for the fourth consecutive session in active mid-morning trading today. On index, industrials were down .56 to 176.SI, golds were up .41 to 176.17, base metals .06 to 85.89 and western oils .33 to 236.97. Volume by 11 a.m. was shares, compared with at the same time Tues- day. Declines outnumbered ad- vances 143 to Bl, with 198 issues unchanged. Combined volume on the Montreal and Canadian Stock Exchanges at 11 a.m. was shares compared with a tine same time Tues- day. On index, industrials were down .53 at 183.77, utilities .11 at 153.76 and the composite .29 at 181.8. Banks rose 1.03 to 216.22 and papers .00 to 78.17. Falconbndge dropped to and Hudson Bay Oil ;i to 14. Down 14 each were TransCanada PpeLines, Cana- dian International Power and Reader's Digest to and respectively. MacMillan Bloedel rose Vz lo On the CSE, RRD Lid. and Wabasso fell each to and respectively, while Whiter- ock Estates rose to drifted lower in light trading today on the stock market. The noon Dow Jones average of 30 industrials was of! 2.41 at 900.99. Declines on the New York Stock Exchange led ad- vances by a 3-to-2 margin. The Associated Press 60-stock average was off .3 at 329.5. RCA was off at in active trading. The slock had gained 4% points in the last two sessions. Prices on the NYSE's most- active list included Bunker Ramo, off at National Cash Register, off 2Vt at Mattel, up 1% at and Heu- belin, off 114 at Among C a n a d i a n s on the NYSE, Dome Mines gained 1 to and Distillers Seagrams and International Nickel were both down to and respectively. On the Amex, Canadian Jav- elin and Scurry Rainbow Oil were both off to and respectively. Grain prices MEW YORK (AP) Prices B.C. bond issues authorized VICTORIA (CP The pro- vincial cabinet has aulhorizec the issiung of million bonds for use by British Co- lumbia Hydro and Power Au- thority and another million for use by the Pacific Great Eastern Railway. The action authorizes Hydro to borrow million from the Canada Pension Plan invesl- ment fund at a rate of inter- est not to exceed eight per cent. Two other issues, one for million and the other for mil- lion, are authorized at an inter- est rate not to exceed 7.25 per cent. The Hydro bonds will carry an issue date of Oct. 1 and mature Oct. 1, 1996 but may be redeemed by the B.C. govern- ment in 1989. The PGE bonds are a five- year parity issue dated Sept. 15 and have an interest rate ot 6.5 per cent.
