Industrial index was up .10 to 309.13, golds .16 to 192.82 and western oils .18 to 251.60. metals, however, slipped .50 to 92.36. Volume by 11 a.m. was 000 shares compared with shares traded by the same time Wednesday. Sectors of the market pulling prices up were bank, food proc- essing, oil refining and steel stocks while beverage, commu- nication, merchandising and chemical issues dropped mod- erately. Declines outnumbered ad- vances 105 to 82 while ISO is- sues remained unchanged. MOLSON DOWN Maritime Telegraph was oft to Witt, Motson Ind. A So W, Scott-La salle to Weldwood to and Capi- tal Diversified three cents to 61 cents. Trade was active. Slaughter steers sold steady, with over-finished steers dis- counted up to Twenty-eight head of choice crossbred steers averaged pounds and sold at 34.40. Heifers and bull'; sold steady. Cows steady with sales to 26.40. Choice steers 32.25 to 33.70, good 31 to 32.25, medium 30 to 31. Choice heifers 30.50 to 31.60, good 29 to 30.25, medium 28 to 29. Good cows 25 to K, me- dium 23.25 to 24.75, earners and cutters 19 to 23. Good bulb 27 to 30. Replacement cattle were mostly fleshy steers in the 800- to-950-pound range, selling at steady prices.
