(AP) Hugo Winterhalter, musical conductor and arranger, has died in hospital of cancer. He was 64. During the 1940s, Winterhalter worked with many of the top names of the big band era, including Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Count Basic, Vaughn Monroe and Raymond Scott. In 1948-49, he was musical director at Columbia Records, where he worked with Frank Sinatra, Dinah Shore. Doris Day and Buddy Clark In 1950, Winterhalter moved to RCA Victor, where he stayed until 1963 as musical director. Among the songs he arrang- ed and conducted at RCA Vic- tor were Eddie Fisher's Oh My Papa, Perry Como's Don't Let The Stars Gei In Your Eyes, and the Ames Brothers' The Naughty Lady of Shady Lane. He is survived by his widow, a daughter, two sons, a brother, a sister and three grandchildren. SALT LAKE CITY. Utah (AP) Merrill Osmond, 20, of the singing Osmond Brothers group, has married Mary Carlson, 22, a Utah high school teacher. Only family members at- tended the ceremonies. The Osmond Brothers, from Ogden, Utah, currently have a singing engagement in Las Vegas A wedding reception is scheduled for Oct. 12 in Bever- ly Hills, Calif. Mrs. Osmond said she met Merrill Osmond on a blind date. LONDON (Reuter) Actress Lee Remick will star in a million commercial television production about the life of Lady Randolph Churchill, the American-born mother of Sir Winston Churchill. Miss Remick, the American wife of English film director Kip Gowans, will take the part of Jennie Jerome, who married Lord Randolph. Filming will begin early in the new year and the seven hour-long programs will be screened over Britain's com- mercial television network in late 1974. Jennie Churchill won a place in history, not only as Lord Randolph's wife and Sir Winston's mother, but also through her well-chronicled love life.
