EACH Lethbridge Debut of the famous "Sweet Adelines" at Centre Village Man This week a SPECIAL CONCERT will be performed in Lethbridge supporting "OLD FASHIONED DAYS" at the Centre Village Mall. Concerts will be held in the Mall Saturday afternoon Sept. 21st at p.m. with Quartet presentations in between the Chorus Concerts. Calgary's Chinook Winds Chapter of Sweet Adelines, Inc. belongs to "Lucky Region No. 13" which encompasses the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska and the Provinces of British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. Calgary chartered and became part of this Region in 1956. Sweet Adelines celebrated it's Silver Anniversary in 1972 having been first organized in 1947 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Membership in this International organization has grown by leaps and bounds and there are now over members in some 585 chapters. In the Spring of each year Regional competitions are held and 3 times Chinook Winds Chorus has emerged Champions. Calgary has also hostessed three of these conventions and is presently endeavoring to obtain the 1976 Spring competition. The chapter presents a show every 2 years, usually in the Fall in the Jubilee Auditorium. Under the capable direction of Mr. Al Knight, Chinook Winds presently has a membership of 55 and is constantly recruiting new members. Within the chorus, a quartet. The Nocturnes, and a double quartet, The Melodaires. have evolved. Like the chorus, these groups are available for entertainment at civic and charitable functions. During the past year they have entertained at many events in Calgary as well as travelling to Edmonton, Banff, Camrose, Nanton and Claresholm. Prices Effective September 19, 20, 21 f 6cV M i m ;
