Filmed entirely on location in the U.S. west coast city of San Francisco, the series makes generous use of that city's ex- otic charms, picturesque set- tings and, on occasions, its seedy shabbiness. The program stars Karl Mai- den as Detective Lieutenant Mike Stone, a tough veteran who rose through the ranks, and Michael Douglas as Assis- tant Inspector Steve' Keller, a young college trained police- man who is eager advance- ment. In this premiere showing, the body of an attractive young woman is found floating in San Francisco Bay. Attached to her necklace is the card of a young lawyer, David Farr, played by Robert Wagner. Through inten- sive and exciting investigation, Stone and Keller discover the existence of several mysteri- ous people who were all con- nected with the murdered vic- tim, and, eventually, the iden- tity of the murderer.
