Wheat sales decline seen WASHINGTON (AP) The United States agriculture de- partment looks for a decline iii world import demand for wheat of about three million metric tons in I ho 1971-72 trading sea- son ending next June 30. A report from the depni t- menu's foreign agricultural service says bigger grain har- vests this summer and fall and continued strong competition among exporting countries are expected lo take some of the snap out of world wheat trade. II says that greater grain sup- plies in Europe, a major im- porter in 1D70-71, will mean lesser world import require- ment. It said this trading season's prospects represent a moderate decline from the high level of 1070-71, during winch about 55.8 million metric tons of wheat moved internationally. This amount'was 10 per cent above wheat trade for the year before and the highest since 19CC-C7. Competition among the major traditional wheat exporters- Canada, the United Stales, Aus- tralia and ex- pected to continue keen in 1971- 72, said (he report. "All are likely lo have larger wheat crops in 1971 than in 1970, although lower levels of carry-in slocks will cause a small de- cline in the tola! supply actually available for export." Industrial production shows dip OTTAWA (CP) Industrial production slipped off fraction- ally in July after Statistics Can- ada made an upward revision In earlie, reports of industrial pro- duction in June, the statistics bureau reported here. The index of industrial pro- duction, based on 1961 output, eased down to 175.fi in July from 175.8 in June. The bureau previously had reported Hie I fluctuations. June index was 175.4. The index measures output of mines, quarries and oil wells, durable and non-durable manu- factured goods, and the electric power, gas and water utilities. These account for about one- Ihird of the country's total out- put and are the industries most affected by general business The July index showed a 1.8- per-cent gain in output of elec- tric power, gns and water, but reductions ui the other main components. Mining was off, though coal and oil production was up. There was no change from June, in balance, in the oulput of durable goods manufactur- ers, but a decline of three-tenths of one per cent in non-durables. FROSTED WATER COLOUR EYE SHADOW COLLECTION.
