Johnny Clements, who is the No. 1 bronc rider in the California Cowboys Association, was right at home as he steered the broncs through their dramatic moment. Sept. 19. The story follows Fanny Brice. who overcame a series of heartbreaks in her life while becoming one of America's most beloved stars, from her beginnings on the Lower East Side through her triumphs with the Ziegfeld Follies. Barbara Streisand stars with Omar Sharif in the role of Nick Arnstein. This film was nominated for a total of seven Academy Awards and Barbara Strei- sand won best performance by an actress. 'Shale Cnniuln from Calgary This special invitational championship, featuring top figure skaters com- peting under world cham- pionship conditions will take place on October 25 and 28. CTV will televise 4 '-2 hours of "Skate Canada" in Calgary. One of CTV's popular family shows, "The Brady Bunch" returning to CTV this year in a new time slot. Sundays at 7 p.m., proves good things come in big packages, and this package has six lively youngsters, two parents and a zany housekeeper. When Mike Brady, a widower with three sons, married Carol, a widow with three daughters, the merger formed a whole company of laughs and Mike and Carol became the parents of television's biggest family. So strong has this union of families become that "The Brady Bunch" is now favorite family viewing. Robert Reed and Florence Henderson star as Mike and Carol Brady, parents of "The Brady The three girls are portrayed by Maureen McCormick as Marcia. Eve Plumb as Jan, and Susan Olsen as Cindy. Barry Williams as Greg, Christopher Knight as Peter, and Michael Lookingland as Bobby, portray the three Brady boys. Ann B. Davis, com- edienne and Emmy winner, adds her special sense of comedy in a role well suited to her talents as a character actress. As Alice, the Brady's harried housekepper, she must somehow cope in the midst of a more than full household. The situation of the Brady family is ripe for comedy: two sensitive parents and one outspoken housekeeper trying to un- derstand the challenges, disappointments, crushes, growing pains and the joys of six lively youngsters. Davis and a houseful of comical characters who have the knack for stirring up trouble and merriment. ROBERT REED Robert Reed was born in Chicago, but raised in Oklahoma. He attended Northwestern University's drama school, studying un- der its celebrated drama coach, Alvina Krause. Following his graduation, he went to England where he had won a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and the University of London. After he returned to New York. he became associated with the award- winning off-Broadway group "The Shakes- acting in a number of the Bard's plays. He then decided to tackle Hollywood, with his first role in television. His appearance as a lawyer in a segment of "Father Knows Best" became the turning point in his career. This film was sent to the producers of "The who im- mediately picked him to play opposite E. G. Marshall. This combina- tion became an instant success. In the four years the series ran on television, it won thirteen Emmy awards. While still filming "The Reed took over the lead of the Broadway hit, "Barefoot In The After "The Defenders" finished he appeared in several motion pictures before signing with Paramount Television for the starring role of Mike Brady, father of television's largest family, on "The Brady Bunch." FLO HENDERSON Florence Henderson is an authority on the subject of children. In real life she is the mother of four children, and as Carol Brady, she's the mother of six. Florence got her first break at the age of seven- teen when she was ad- mitted into New York's famed American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Her first professional job was the result of her cutting classes to audition for "Wish You Were Here" directed by Josh Logan, Richard Rogers and the late Oscar Hammerstein saw her and gave her the lead in the road company of She returned to Broadway and appeared in "Fanny'' for nineteen quickly following this with 15 months in the road company of "The Sound Of Music." She has also appeared in "The King And "The Great Waltz" and "South Pacific." Her delightful wit and personality have made her a guest on many television variety shows, including "The Dean Martin "The Ed Sullivan "Kraft Music Hall" and "The Jackie Gleason Florence is married to manager-producer Ira Bernstein and they live in New York.
