But restaurateur Jilly Rizzo said he did nothing more than slap businessman Frank Weinstock, who is suing Sinatra, Rizzo and another of the singer's friends for million. Rizzo also said he didn't as- sault Weinstock on Sinatra's orders. "I don't protect no Rizzo said when asked if he was defending Sinatra on May 5, 1973. "He don't need any protection. He's a man enough to stand up and defend himself in his own way like any man should." Rizzo, being questioned by a lawyer for Weinstock, told of the complaint about Wein- stock by Sinatra's date, Bar- bara Marx, the former wife of comedian Zeppo Marx. Rizzo said she would not tell him about the problem, but a member of the Sinatra party at the Trinidad Hotel told him that "someone had approach- ed her when she came in the door and asked her, 'May I es- cort you to the He said -Mrs Marx even- tually pointed to Weinstock and said, "That's the fellow, right there." A few seconds later he said Weinstock arose and headed for the men's room and so did Sinatra. Earlier witnesses testified that Rizzo started the assault by throwing the first punch and that Sinatra had shoved Weinstock in the chest. Rizzo said Sinatra, angry with Weinstock for addressing him disrespectfully, poked him with a finger and then left the restroom The nusky, gray-haired Rizzo, who wore shaded pink glasses, said he told Wein- stock, "Let's forget about it; it's over At that point, he said Weins- tock called him "a Mafia "a hoodlum" and slurred Rizzo's Italian heritage. "He raised his hands to me, and I've got glasses and one eye and no one's going to raise his hand to me and I slapped him Ruzo said. He said the blow knocked Weinstock to the floor. CBC stereo network to be world's longest OTTAWA (CP) A plan to form the longest FM stereo radio network in the world by mid-1975 was announced Thursday by the CBC. New stations in St. John's, Nfld., Halifax and Calgary will be linked to existing stations in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg and Van- couver by next year. The CBC said new stations in Edmonton and Windsor, Ont., also are planned. ParkUde Drive Phone 327-0115 NEW YORK (AP) Rembert Wurlitzer, Inc., one of the world's leading havens for fiddle fanciers, will close at the end of September after 25 years of business. Lee Wurlitzer, who took over the firm as president after her husband, Rembert, died in 1963, plans to sell the collection of fine old stringed instruments to a select few dealers "I'm tired I want to retire I love the old fiddle business and I want to dispose of the instruments in a civilized way, with she said. The collection includes such names as Stradivarius, Amati, Ruggerio, Bergonzi, Montagna and Sacconi, and has been insured for the last 10 years at million. But Mrs Wurhtzer does not know the exact monetary worth of the collection. She said that until an old instrument actually changes hands, its value is unpredictable. The most valuable violin Mrs. Wurlitzer has in the collection is the Hellier Strad, appraised at The instrument, commissioned by an English family named Hellier from Stradivari, has had only three owners. Craftsmen at the firm probably will set up their own concerns or go to other violin dealers, Mrs. Wurlitzer said. (CP) The CBC said Thursday that residents of northwestern British Columbia will be able to see all eight games of the Canada Russia hockey series this fall. The games will be carried through the CFTK-TV here. The CBC and CTV are each carrying four games of the series, but there are no CTV affiliate stations in the area, and the CBC had refused per- mission to use their microwave. Viewers in the area last week sent telegrams with more than signatures protesting the decision and CBC officials in Ottawa said the decision would be recon- sidered OUR KARATE RUNG FU ORB KARATE KUNG FU ORR KARATE RUNG FU ORR KARATE KUKG Introductory Courses CAN PROVIDE YOU WITH PROTECTION!
