S7K 2C4. student problem EDMONTON (CP) "A real problem of loneliness" exists among University of Alberta students, says an interim report by the general faculties council commitlee on student stress. Tne committee, headed by Isabel Munroc, dean of women, presented its findings to a meeting of the council's executive committee. Students seem worried about certain cliques which shun outsiders, said the report. There is ('too much bureaucracy in the students' union and not enough planning for the needs of all students." It adds lhat the university also is marked by an overemphasis on a few political, athletic and social interests. There were not enough "special interests." The committee, established in June, 1971, said stress on the university's students varies according to academic load, professors Indent relationships, and the different faculty methods of dealing with the problem. It suggests that the loncli-ness problem can be approach-; ed through a combined effort by concerned students, faculty and student services staff in conjunction with the proposed drop-in centre planned by utii-1 dent help.
