Lethbridge Herald, The (Newspaper) - September 4, 1973, Lethbridge, Alberta 2 THE LETHBRIDGE HERALD ByRICSWIHART Herald Staff Writer Moving water The inverted siphon' top, east of Granum, carries water across a long ravine. The amount of water reaching irrigators east of this structure is limited by the capacity of the siphon. Rick Ross, manager of the Lethbridge Northern Irrigation District, points to large cracks in the beams supporting the flume which carries the dis- trict's water supply across the Oldman River about two miles downstream from the district's headworks. The timbers are held in place by the weight of the water while the metal trough is suspended on the metal rods attached to the main crossbeams. ;
