Exports of beef cattle to the United States last week rose to head and were mostly stackers and feeders under 700 pounds, the agriculture depart- ment announced Friday. Deliveries of cattle to public markets were moderate, and demand was somewhat more uneven for the week. The limited supply of top quality steers and heifers were mainly steady to 75 cents high- er. Good quality cows traded under pressure throughout the week and were mainly steady to lower. Bulls varied from an odd 50 cents higher to 50 cents lower. Feeder cattle were in de- mand at steady to strongi prices, and stock calves fron steady to as much as highe Veal and butcher calve were fully steady. The ho market varied from high' to 50 cents lower for the week and good lambs were steady down. Choice steers: Montreal 33 ti 34.25; Toronto 34 to 35.50; Win nipeg 32.50 to 33.50; Saskatoo 31 to 32.25; Edmonton 31 u 31.70; Calgary 31.25 to 32.70.
