Campbell, a guard at the New- castle county work house at Green- bank, was shot today during a strug- gle with Nojilf Graham, a negro pris- oner, and died half an hour later. Graham was shot twice- by Giiard Dorsey, who went to Campbell's ns- siiStance, and James Butcher, a prisoner who also went to Campbell's assistance, was shot in the left leg. Butcher was only slightly hurt, but Graham's injuries are serious. Camp- bell had assigned certain work in the prison shop to refused to do it and picked up a saw and attempted to strike Campbell. The latter drew his revolver and in the struggle the weapon was discharged. The bullet passed through the fore- head of the guard.
