This low price includes re- turn air fare to Portugal.; ho- tel accommodation; all hotel service charges, and five sight- seeing tours. Other 16-day tours highlight the Canaries and the Costa del Sol; Portugal and Southern Spain as well as Southern Morocco and the Ca- naries. The new s nations.____________________________________________ New Low-Cost Ski Package Includes World Famous Resorts Air France is offering this year a new low cost ski pack- age in the French Alps for including two weeks' accommo- dation and air fare. Courchevel, Megeve, Val d'ls- ere, Tignes and Chamonbr, all world famous ski resorts, have been selected for this program with the option of two types of accommodation. Two week stays in conven- tional, hotels are available eith- er in one resort or in a combin- ation of two different ones. Breakfast and dinner are in- cluded in this option. The new possibility is in a newly built luxury apartment with full modern kitchen facil- ities, tableware and utensils per- mitting one to have breakfast or even prepare all meals if desired. Departures for this special ski program are scheduled for the following dates: December 19, January 2, 23 and 30, Feb- ruary 6, 13, 20 and 27, and March 6, 13 and 20. All transatlantic travel will be aboard Air France Boeing 747 jetliners. Courchevel, the favorite re- sort of ski and after ski cham- pions, .provides as much in en- tertainment as in ski facilities. Miles and miles of slopes for skiers of all calibers make Cour- chevel a privileged area for snow addicts. The ski possibil- ities are unlimited. In one day, one can ski to Meribel and Saint Martin des Belleville and back or return by taxi. According to their prefer- ences, skiers may choose Cour- KLM Austrian Ski Tours To Be Repeated This Season KLM's successful Ski tours to Austria which the airline intro- duced last winter will be re- peated with extended accom- modation facilities in Austria and in Cortina d'Ampezzo, the well-known Italian resort. Priced from for 2 week packages the program includes both BIT and GIT de- partures. Air transportation from Montreal to Munich is in- cluded in this price as well as surface transportation to the vacation destination, accom- modation in attractive tourist pensions plus continental breakfast. Honorary Knighthood Provided PRAGUE Want an hon- orary knighthood? A new ser- vice by Cedok, the Czechoslo- vak Travel Bureau, provides one. It is offered on a group tour basis in conjunction with the administration of Krivoklat Castle 31 miles from Prague. The tour ends with an honor- ary knighthood bestowed on participants. By special arrangement, eve- ning visitors to Hie castle are treated to the spectacle of the castle being bathed in lights upon their arrival. Then they walk through facing rows of guards in historical costumes. Trumpet fanfares announce their arrival in a large hall where they can view Gothic art while sipping cocktails. Trans-Siberian Service In April The Scandinavian countries j and the U.S.S.R. have com- pleted agreements which will make possible the start of T r a n s-Siberian service by Scandinavian Airlines and Aeroflot between Copenhagen and Tokyo, probably about April 1, 1971. SAS will continue to operate its present polar route between Copenhagen and Tokyo via Anchorage, but will reduce its frequency from three to two flights per week when the Tnins-Sibcrian service begins. Weekend Holidays In Spain Okayed LONDON (CP) A travel] company in Lord Thomson's varied business empire has won permission from the British government to operate cheap weekend winter holidays in Spain for an inclusive charge of Sky Tours, a company in the Canadian-born publishers Thom- son Travel Holdings Ltd., is due to begin its series of four-day package tours to the Balearic island of Majorca Oct. 23. It had been awaiting the board of trade's decision on its appeal after rejection of the scheme by the air transport licensing board. The publicly-owned British European Airways had objected on grounds that traffic would be diverted from its own scheduled development the board of. trade considered "un- stated it was not happy about the board's deci- sion. 'We obviously cannot beat cut-throat said a EiEA spokesman. Tour operators, however, hailed the news as a "break- through" and immediately planned to follow the Thomson company's suit.
