Canada can assist world WINNIPEG (CPl Finance Minister John Turner said Thursday night Canada, with one of the world's strongest economies, has a un- ique opportunity to help resolve the world's economic problems. He said Canada, whose prosperity is dependent to a great extent on world prosperity, already has acted on many of the measures that top economists have urged on President Ford to fjght inflation. Mr. Turner told about 290 people at a Liberal Con- stituency Association fund- raising dinner that Canada has surpassed Italy and now has the world's sixth strongest economy, "We will pass Britain in Uiree or four years. And then France. "If we exercise stability and self-discipline, if we respect the fragility of the current economic situation and do not over-react we can exer- cise a moderating influence and bring sanity back to the world economic and trade situation."
