Lethbridge Herald, The (Newspaper) - October 18, 1973, Lethbridge, Alberta Servicing costs remain the same Lots back on sale in Taber Thursday, October LETHBRIOGE 2 residents to contest Pupils take Southland Claresholm byelection TABER (HNS) The freeze on residential land sales in Taber has ended after being in effect for two weeks, and available lots will be sold with no change in charges for prepaid servicing Sale of building lots was suspended when council con- sidered that the town was sub- sidizing purchasers for ser- vicing The amounts charged were considerably below that assessed by two neighboring cities. Costs remain at 50 per front foot where overhead power is supplied, and 00 where power and telephone services are underground Power installations are made by Calgary Power Ltd. Council learned that some 20 lots are now serviced and available for building. Land values, above servicing costs, may be increased at year-end when the new assessment values are applied To settle the servicing con- troversy, council voted to complete the servicing on future subdivisions before any building lots are sold This will allow the actual costs of servicing to be applied against individual properties Pre-servicing includes water and sewer mains and Beazer guest ranch open Promoted Col.
