Dangerous Practice Charles McDermott, of Diamond City, was this morning fined ?5.00 and costs by Inspector West, at the Police Barracks, for being druak last evening in charge of a team which ran into a buggy containing Mr. and Mrs. Reycraft, who were on their way home to Barons. Bank Clearings Grow The .bank clearings for the "week ended today amount to as compared with for five days last week. Slemmins said be was proceeding down the street ihe other day. when a couple of small boys breezed up. and sang "Coon, coon, coon." That riled him, and he the facial anatomy of one of tho small fry. Ho didn't believe in being called n coon, when he was a plain, everyday negro. The result was that he was fined the costs of the court, and subtracting himself from three, hard-sarned dollars, was aiiowed to depart, "with tho -warning that the r.oxt time anyone called him a coon ho to notify the police, who would deal justice to the offend ers.
