Besides her loving husband she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. B. C. (Betty) Dechant, Edmonton; three sons, James and Thomas of Edmonton and Norman of Castlegar, B.C.; 10 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Agnes Empey, Nelson, B.C. and one brother, Charles Rowley, of Lethbridge. He told a news conference both CBC and CTV networks cleared an hour of prime television time for Finance Minister Edgar Benson, but opposition viewpoints got short shrift. Mr. Stanfield said he had never before attacked Canadian television networks on such an issue but their handling was "the most distorted and onesided in Canadian television history." He said the only TV coverage of his views of Mr. Benson's proposals was a short, edited piece on the national news. "I don't understand why they bother with Information Canada when they have two national television networks at their disposal." Mr. Stanfield reiterated his criticisms of the economic plans and said he feels he had us much chance of expressing his views to a television audience in Canada as ho would have in China.
