Lethbridge Herald, The (Newspaper) - October 15, 1971, Lethbridge, Alberta Prices skyrocket on stock market TORONTO (CP) Prices o the Toronto stock market sky rocketed following the an nouncement by the federal gov ernment of corporate tax cut and other measures designed tc stimulate C a n a d a's sagging economy. The industrial index climbec 4.13 points to 165.62- During thi first 10 minutes of trading thi index advanced more than twi points, the largest 10-minute ad vance on record. Western oils were up 3.69 to 218.66 and base metals .29 to 75.61. Golds were down 1.08 to 146.78. Volume by 11 a.m. jumped to shares, up from at the same time Thursday. Advances outnumbered de- clines 291 to 37, with 102 issues unchanged.
