Aleuts case on N-test to be heard ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) A request for a temporary injunction barring the planned nuclear warhead test on the Aleutian Island of Amchitka was denied by U.S. District Court Judge Raymond Plum- mer. At the same time, Plumrner reserved a decision on a motion by the Atomic Eencrgy Com- mission to dismiss the suit filed by the Aleut League and set next Wednesday as date for a trial of the case on its merits. The Aleuts contend the five- megaton blast would result in a "variety of includ- ing earthquakes, volcanic ac- tion, tidal waves, radioactive contamination and an upsetting of the aquatic food chain. In his order of denial, Plum- mer noted be was "aware of proceedings involviiig similar lo those presented in this case have been before the U.S. District Court and the Cir- cuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia." He said if a slay order was entered by either of those courts prior lo Oct. 13, all pro- ceedings in tlie Anchorage case would lie stayed pending fur- ther court order......... The Aleut League suit, nam- ing the AEC and its members as defendants, was filed in An- chorage Sept. 2. The test blast, code named Cannikan, is scheduled for later this fall' if President Nixon gives his approval. 0 -TL _l Now at these Firestone Stores: Corner 3rd Ave. and Si'n St. S.
