It's a' family- type comedy, a delightful play. My good friend Jose Quintero is anxious to do it." Show business, Carney said is not a v business in which he is happy all the time. But it is his vocation, his everything. "What makes it so fascinating, what makes me tick with it, is the un-' certainty. You can be way down in the depths, Saying, 'Oh, I wish I was doing something else.' "Then a new script, a new part and you're up there again." Carney Jives in New York City in a posh con- dominium.
