Thursday, October 9th, -1919, as Fire Pre- vention Day. The object of this day thus set apart for observance, is lo reduce the tremendous fire waste of1 the Dominion, especially that which is directly due to carelessness and avoidable causes. To the furtherance of this purpose, it is recommended that special instruction on the subject of Fire Prevention be given by the teachers; tWt suitable literaure be disnbulecl to the pupils and that fire drills be held in all schools, colleges and educational institutions throughout Canada.
