On index, industrials were up ,63 to 166.40, golds .24 to 159.91, base metals .12 to 97.81 and western oils .29 to 192.29. Volume by 11 a.m. was 696,000 shares, up from 645,000 at the same time ITiursday. Gains outnumbered losses 12^ to 61 with 152 issues unchanged. Strongest sectors were banks, beverages, oil refiners and general manufacturers. Thirteen of the exchange's 17 sub-indexes were higher. Among advancing stocks. In-ternational Utilities was up V/s to $31%, Supertest common 1 to $14%, Alcan % to $21%, Walk-e r -G o 0 d e r h a m % to .$43i/8, Kerr-Addison % to $10%, International Mogul 1/4 to $11 and Banff V4 to $13%. Thomson Newspapers was down % to $181/4, Noranda % to $27%, Opemiska Vs to $12, Sher-ritt Vs to $18%, Hudson Bay Mining Vs to $20%, Bankeno 10 cents to $4.05 and Pyramid 13 cents to 60 cents. PAPERS DOWN MONTREAL (CP)-The Montreal stock market moved ahead in all sectors except papers in brisk trading today. Banks led the advance, gaining 1.38 to 178.07. UtiUties climbed .75 and industrials .06, Hog Prices EDMONTON (CP) - Hog prices today provided by the Alberta Hog Producers Marketing Board: Edmonton: Quoted 25,80 to 25.85, selling 25.85. INDUSTRIALS Neoiiex Fails To Cbmplete Mill Deal TORONTO (CP) - Neonex Intemational Ltd. of Vancouver announced here it had failed to complete on schedule two transactions which would give it control of Maple Leaf Mills Ltd. of Toronto. Neonex issued a statement saying its plans to issue 2,550,000 Neonex common shares for 100 per cent of Norris Grain Co. Ltd. of Winnipeg, which owns two-thirds of Upper Lakes Shipping Ltd. of Toronto, had not been completed. "Accordingly the subsequent sale of upper Lakes Shipping to Leitch Transport Ltd. was not completed," the statement said. The two transactions were agreed upon last December to give Neonex control of Maple Leaf Mills by acquiring the Maple Leaf shares held by Upper Lakes and Leitdi Transport.
