Lethbridge Herald, The (Newspaper) - October 1, 1971, Lethbridge, Alberta Calgary plumbers plan to strike CALGARY (CP) More 5 was counted this Mr than 400 city plumbers plan (o strike Monday morning if a contract dispute isn't settled during the weekend, says Lyle Tackaberry, business agent for Local 496 of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union. Wages are not involved in the dispute, he said, because a new pay scale was agreed upon in a memorandum of agrecmenl with 37 contractors July 5. Final settlement has been de- layed because of a dispute con- cerning registration of the Ca- nadian plumbing and mechani- cal contractors' association as the bargaining agent for the employers.
