Business Men's Confab City Solicitor Ball met a few of the business men of the city last evening in Secretary Hay's office, and explain- ed many points concerning the work- ing of the Commission form of govern- ment. Tho discussion was a profit- able one, and plainly showed that the Commission fonn of government is looked upon witli favor by tbp busi- ness men, who generally know by ex- perience what hind of management is best for the success of a business. Looking for Sheep Sheep ranchers are at the present time receiving numerous enquiries for stock, owing to the fact that farmers throughout the country are 'becoming more and more alive to the necessity of mixed-fanning. As one 'well known local dealer expressed it today; "When we establish this mixed farm- ing idea firmly the cost of living will take a tumble, and the working man will be better able to afford, more of the luxuries of life." Meeting of Kennel Club The annual meeting of the Letli- bridge Kennel club will he held in Room 4, Hull Block, on Monday even- ing, when the officers for the ensuing year will he elected. A committee will also he appointed to arrange for the spring snow to be held here in March. The club intend making this show oue of the finest ever held in Western Ca- nada, and no pains will be spared to have the hest kennels in the country represented here. Dogs which will al- so compete at Winnipeg, Moose Jaw. Calgary and Edmonton will be shown here, thus ensuing record entries. Y. H. C. A. Gym. Contests A large gallery witnessed some ex- citing sport at the Y. M. C. A. last night, as a resnH of the various con- tests put on by the gymnasium depart ment. It was one of the best evenings ever held in the gymnasium, every- thing being handled in first class shape. The following were the res- pective results: Standing high 1, K, P.
