Lethbridge Herald, The (Newspaper) - November 29, 1972, Lethbridge, Alberta Toronto market trading active TORONTO (CP) Prices on the Toronto stock market were mixed in active mid-morning trading today. The industrial index, consid- ered a major indicator of mar- ket trends, was down .03 to 214.46 and western oils .26 to 264.08. Golds were up .76 to 184.35 and base metals .05 to 81.81. Volume by 11 a.m. was 000 shares compared with 000 traded by the same time Tuesday. Food processing, pipeline, communication and bank stocks were among sectors of the mar- ket recording a majority of gains while beverage, oil refin- ing, chemical and steel issues were off slightly. Advances outnumbered d e- clines 130 to 99 while 183 issues remained unchanged. Aquitaine rose to Shell Canada to Trans- Canada PioeLines to Scotts Restaurants to and Leught Instruments to Canadian Imperial Bank fell to Canadian Hydrocar- bons to Chrysler to Zellers Vi to and Ri- ley's 10 cents to Roman Corp. climbed 20 cents to Giant Mascot 5 cents to and Consolidated Rambler 4 cents to Iso Mines dropped 10 cents to and Willroy 5 cents to MONTREAL (CP) All sec- tors advanced in light trading on the Montreal stock marke today. Combined volume on the Mon trcal and Canadian stock ex changes at 11 a.m. was shares, compared with at the same time Tuesday. NEW YORK (AP) Stoc market prices remained lowe and drifting today as uncer tainty over the Vietnam peac talks and profit-taking pressur kept investors on edge. Grain price review Winnipeg Grain WINNIPEG (CP) With the exception of December flax, all prices on the Winnipeg Com- modity Exchange moved only Livestock Calgary livestock CALGAHY (CP) Receipts the Calgary livestock mar- ket to 11 a.m. totalled 650 head, mostly rows. Trade was ac- tive. Slaughter steers were steady with Tuesday's advance; heif- ers were scarce with no strict- ly choice kinds offered and prices steady; cows were un- even with prices 25 to 50 cents higher and good heifery kinds to 27.40. Bulls were steady. Choice slaughter stesr 35.00 lo 35.90, good 34.25 to 35.25, medium 32 to 34. Good to low choice heifers 32 to 33.80, me- dium 30 to 31.50. Good cows 24.50 to 25.50, medium 22.25 to 24, earners and cutters 18 to 22. Good bulls 25 to 27. Replacement cattle were mostly steers more than 750 pounds and selling steady. In- sufficient stock calves to estab- lish a market. Good feeder steers more than 750 pounds 35 to 38. Good stock and feeder cows 22 to 28. Hogs base price 37.25.
