Phone 328-6977 JOHN BARTON Good Word contest bags lots of mail CTV's daytime game show, What's The Good Word, got more than they bargained for when they opened up the game to home viewers. In two short weeks after host John Barton announc- ed the home-participant element, BCTV (CTV's Vancouver affiliate station where the show is produced) became literally flooded with mail. Over letters have been received to date. Producer Bob Aaron summed up his reaction this way: "We never an- ticipated anything like this! Not only the volume, but even the nice things people have to say." Some comments from the contestants are as follows: "For some years I have watched your lively program while some of my friends daily watched the unfolding of 'The Edge of Night' (and) I'm sure I had more "I really enjoy your show (and) get really mad when cable goes snowy in a crucial period like the clues." very interesting and challenging as I make all the games 'home games'." being a grand- mother I like my brain to be raked now and again! Phone 328-1090 GERRY SAGE THE CAMERA AND YOU Last week I mentioned that there might be a film shortage by Christmas because of the Kodak strike. Many people are buying several rolls of film to be safe. I should also have mentioned that it you are buy- ing several rolls, please store it properly. Put it in a plastic bag and put it in the refrigerator. Remember that heat deteriorates the film while cold helps to suspend the chemistry. We are now in the Christmas party season so the majority of your pictures will probably be Hash. Remember that tor good color pictures with flash it is desireabie to be 4 8 feet away from your subject. That's about the length of a person. If you have an electronic flash, take your time to make sure you have the right setting and that your unit is fully charged and ready tor Hash, (the ready light is on.) You should check and c'ean vour camera and Hash. Clean your camera inside and out. Clean your lens with a soft material similar to what you would use !or opticals. Check your batlerres and clean your battery and flash terminals. If you have trouble doing this, bring it iri to us. This is one ol our tree services.
