Following a reception in UK Carolina Room of the El Rancho Motor the cou- ple travelled to northern Saskatchewan and Alberta foi a honeymoon. They have taken up residence in Lethbridge. MR. AND MRS. MAX A. BAINES Baines-Mueller MR. AND MRS. DALE LAWRENCE HALMRAST Halmrast-Fletcher 50th anniversary Ar. and Mrs. Frank Brown recently celebrated the. 50th wdding anniversary with a reception for farniiy and friends. The Fort Macleod couple were named in Lethbridge Nov. 10. Both are active in Community affairs and operated a grocery business un- til their retirement in 1963. The couple has one Gloria Snider of Didsbury and two George and Bob of Fort Macleod. They have 12 grand- children and four great-grandchildren. Miss Lorna daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray H. was recently un- ited in marriage with Max A. son of Mr. and Mrs. Max E. Baines. All are of Lethbridge. The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Blake Anderson in McKillop United Church with bridal attendants Lynette Evans of Fairview and Janice Strange of Kelow- B.C. Best man was Gary Young of Calgary with groomsman Scott Foss. Ushers were Martin Mueller and Robert McMann. A reception was held at Sven Ericksen's Family Restaurant with James Carson- Wadstein The Anglican Church of St. Bede in was the setting for the marriage of Miss Connie Lou daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. K. Carson of Scar- and Const. Allen Douglas son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen L. Wadstein of Lethbridge. Officiating at the double ring ceremony was Rev. Robert Grisdale. Matron of honor was Mrs. Bruce Freeborn of sister of the with bridal attendant Mrs. L. Tarontow of Sault Ste. Marie. Best man was Cpl. Ted Young of Toronto with ushers Const. Garry Baker of Toronto and Bruce Freebom of Ottawa. Following a reception held in the church the couple travelled to Nassau for a honeymoon. and Mrs. Wadstein have taken up residence in Toronto. Temple wedding Miss Debera daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Murray Wilde of presently residing in Logan was recently united in marriage with James Kinder of Red Deer. The marriage took place in the Alberta Temple with a reception following at the Park Plaza Motor Hotel in Lethbridge. The bride was attend- ed by her sisters Kathleen and Barbara. Popular belief disproved TORONTO The pop- ular belief that young women are safer drivers than single males has suffered a collision with fact. Female drivers 16 to 24 have more accidents than single men in the same age says the pooling arrangement of insurance companies to cover high-risk drivers. It says female drivers 21 to 24 had a loss ratio of 107 per cent last seven per cent more was paid out than collected in pre- miums. The highest loss ratio for single men was the 93.3 per cent for those 19 and 20. But there's a note of grim hope for women's lib. Married males under 21 have the wont loss ratio of per cent. Facility says Canada's worst drivers statistically are in Nova Scotia with a loss ra- tio in 1972 of 107.1 per cent.
