The crowds are already assembling, and the present indications arc that this is going to he the greatest battle the world has ever known. Bloody Bill Kulturc is first to enter the ring, and is met with a volley of applause from his hackers. Be Mocyicy is just leaving his dressing room, and the reception tendered him by his supporters resounds until long after he has taken his position in the ring. Bloody Rill is wearing a gruff and surly expression (as is usual), while Dc Mocracy is full of smiles and unbounded confidence. They are introduced to the World by the Referee, and the fight is on. Time-Round 1-1911. Bloody Bill .rushes Ue Mocracy to the far side of the ring (Belgium) where he is met with an onslaught of right and left jabs to the face. They rush each other from side to side of the ring; now they meet in.the middle o*4he ring and clinch. They break away; Bloody Bill hooks a left jab to l)e Mocracy's jaw; they again clinch and are separated by the referee. They ate studying each other's defence, waiting for an opening, when De Mocracy feints a straight right to the heart, followed by a terrific blow to the solar plexus and a straight right above the heart (Battles of Ypres and the Marne). They exchange blows in the centre of the ring, and Bloody Rill is already wearing a distressed look, while his seconds urge him on. De Mocracy fresh, and growing stronger as the fight progresses. TJie round closes with Bloody Bill determined to score a knock-out, as he realizes this is his only chance to win. The bell rings as De Mocracy goes to his corner full of confidence. Time-Round 2-1915. Both lighters are on their feet at the sound of the gong. De Mocracy plants a solid right to the Hun's jaw (British naval victory of the North Sea), followed by,a terrific blow to mid-section (Russians capture Pr/e-mysl). Bloody Bill just misses a hard blow to the head (Allied troops land in Gallipoli Peninsula). Referee warns Bloody Bill about hitting low (German subs sink S.S. William P. Frye). He is also warned about hutting with his head (S.S. GuftTight sunk by sub). Bloody Bill hooks light jab to the cheek (Russians retire from Carpathians). Referee again cautions Bloody Bill for fouling (S.S. Lusitania sunk by sub). Audience hiss. De Mocracy misses unother hard blow to the head (Austria-German troops capture Lemberg). Bloody Rill again cautioned against foul tactics (S.S. Armenian sunk by subs). Bloody Rill sends a stiff jolt to the heart (Germans capture Warsaw). Bloody Bill again warned about fouling, and the crowd hiss and booh (Edith Cavtll executed). A moment later he again hits low (S.S. Arabia sunk by sub). He asks forgiveness from De Mocracy saying it was done unintentionally (Germany agrees to sink no more ships without warning). De Mocracy starts an offensive, hut couTd not reach beyond Bloody Bill's Defence (Allies' unsuccessful attempt to break through German lines). De Mocracy tries a left to the eye, and lands (Great Britain declares war on Bulgaria^, but in return he receives a short arm upper-cut to the jaw (Turks drive British from Bagdad). Roth gladiators spar in the middle of the ring (Ford's Peace Ship sails). De Mocracy has the best of an encounter (Capt. Boy Ed and Capi. von Papen recalled at the demand of the United States Government). They clinch, and in the break-away De Mocracy reaches his opponent's eye with a heavy blow (Sir Douglas Haig takes command of the British Army in France). De Mocracy is again fouled (S.S. Persia sunk without warning). De. Mocracy slips and while on one knee is struck a terrific blow which glances off the Bide of his head (Canadian Soldiers found crucified). The hell sounds and it is visible to the spectators that Bloody Bill sees his chance of winning fading fast, while De Mocracy again smiles at his admirers as tK second** start rubbing his arms and legs. Time-Round 3-1916. Both fighters come to the centre of the ring and Dc Mocracy opens with a blow to the head. They spar studying each other intensely. The blows delivered by Hioody Bill are landing but' contain no power. De Mocracy lands another one to the eye which is slowly but surely closing (Allied Economy Conference agree to boycott all German goods after the war). They spar until they again reach the centre of the ring where they exchange face,and body blows until Blnodv Bill breaks ground (Battle of the Somme begins). De Mocracy follows his foe and lands several blows in succession (Sir Robert Casement hanged; Italy declares war on Germany; Italians capture Gorzln>. They clinch: Bloody Bill is again hutting with his head (German Sub sinks ship off American Coast). They break and Dc Mocracy again lands several blows without any retaliation (Emperor FrancLi Joseph Dies); United States protests against Belgian deportations; Lloyd George heads new British Ministry; Germany propose peace, but is rejected). The bell rings, and the contrast of the men as they take their respective corners is very-noticeable by the spectators. Bloody Bill is losing his speed and strength, while De Mocracy is much stronger than when he first entered the ring. Time-Round 1-1917 Bloody Bill rushes from his corner,like a raving maniac (Germany announces unrestricted submarine warfare). As they meet, he gets right and left punches to the body before he could get his defence in action (United States severs diplomatic relation with Germany; Kut el Amara taken by the British; President Wilson orders all merchant ships armed; Germany's plot to induce Mexico and Japan to invade United States, revealed; British capture Bagdad, Russian Czar abdicated; Germans retire from Hindenburg line). They clinch and as they break De Mocracy lands a number of other blows that almost puts Bloody Bill out for the count. (United States declares war on Germany; Austria-Hungary severs diplomatic relation with United States; Brazil severs diplomatic relations with Germany; Turkey severs relations with United States; President Wilson signs two billion dollar bond issue; United States destroyers arrive in British waters). Bloody Bill clinches but De Mocracy keeps slamming short arm jolts to the region,of the heart and Bloody Rill is just about out. British blow up Messine Ridge; King Constantine abdicated; First Liberty Loan of two billion dollars over-subscribed by one billion, thirty million dollars; First American Troops arrive in France; Italians make final stand at Piave River). They have to be separated by the referee fend De Mocracy again goes after Bloody Bill, landing effective rights and lefts to Bloody Bill's jaw. (Second Liberty Loan, three billion dollars over-subscribed;-, American troops clash for the first time with Germany; Germans decisively beaten on the drive to Cambrai; General Byng making surprise attacks with tanks). Bloody Bill tries desperately to land a heavy blow to the head, but is unsuccessful (Munition Vessel explodes at Halifax). The bell rings just as De Mocracy lands three blows on Bloody Bill's, already closing eye, (United States declares war on Austria-Hungary; British Army capture Jerusalem; United States Government takes over railroads). The bell rings and Bloody Bill's seconds have to assist him to his corner and are using artificial respiration to revive him. Time-Round 5-1918. As the men leave their corners it is plainly visible that Bloody BUI cannot survive the round. De Mocracy lands another clean punch on Bloody Bill's now closed eye, (Strikes in German War Munitions).4 Bloody Bill rushes into a clinch and deliberately fouls again (S.S. Tuscania sunk by Submarine). De Mocracy again lands on Bloody Bill's eye (Bolo Pasha sentenced to death for treason). Bloody Bill lands a severe upper-cut to De Mocracy's jaw. (Russia accepts German peace terms). They are now fighting at long range during which time De Mocracy lands a good solid punch to the Jaw fvllowed by a right and left to the body. Bloody Bill again starts his rushes hut could not tear down De Mocracy's stone-wall defence, (Germany begins stupendous attacks against British and French lines from Arras to La Fere; Paris bombarded by long guns; German advance halted (Germans fail in their offensive against Amiens). They clinch and as they break away De Mocracy again starts at his opponent with vicious right and left punches mostly directed against the region of the heart. (American Troops occupy section near Verdun; American Ajmy tolals one million five hundred thousand men and one hundred and thirty thousand officers; German attack near St. Mihiel repulsed; British sink cruisers in harbors of Ostend and Zeebrugge, blocking Submarine Base). Bloody Bill lands a short jab to the face and a slight tap to the badly. Germany opens second attack on Amiens and breaks through; Germany reinforces Austria to holster it up). Bloody Bill lands another one to the lace, (Germans take Soissons). but receives a hard blow to the wind, (their rush is halted at Rheims). Hioody Bill again rushes and lands a slight right to the face followed by a slight left and right to the body. (German* reach Marne and Chateau Thierry). De Mocracy lands another severe blow to the point of the jaw. Bloody Bill again tries a blow to the jaw. hut is short, (Germans start fourth drive between Montdidier and Noyon and make small advances). Seeing Hioody Bill weakening, De Mocracy starts again with a furious rush landing rights and lefts, in succession to the jaw and heart, (Americans take Belleau Wood; British, French and Italians drive Austrian* acrats Piave; German Foreign Secretary declares that war cannot be ended by military victory). To save himself Bloody Bill again fouls, (Hospital Ship Llandovery Castle sunk). This only makes De Mocracy datermuNd and he again starts at his foe with right and lefts to the head and heart, (More than a million American men in France). At this point it li tan-to see that Bloody Bill cannot last much longer and De Mocracy renews sua old attack of right and left blows to the jaw and heart, (Germane drive* across the Maine; Checked East of Rheims and stopped at all points; Allies open the greatest offensive since 1917; Capture all towns between Soissons and Chateau Thierry; Japan sending Army .into Siberia). They, clinch and again Bloody Bill is cautioned against foul tactics, (&&, Juetkta sunk by a submarine). The referee had difficulty in making Bloody Bill break* away. Bloody Bi)l tried hard to land but ha was again mat with terrific punches to the jaw and heart which have been landing with tatf-success, (Allies cross the Marne, British make important advance Mir Rheims; French take Oulchy; Germans retiring from Kheims; British and. This blow brings Bloody Bill to the mat in an almost lawless condition and as the referee starts counting him out.
