Two concerts with the Stam- peders as headliners ware given in Amsterdam and they also headlined performances in Rot- terdam, Venlo, Assen and Leeu- warden. The Amsterdam newspaper T3e Volkskrant described the trio as "a top Canadian group strongly on Uieir way to gain international stardom." De Tel- the Amsterdam news- paper with the largest circula- tion, devoted a full page to the touring group. From the Netherlands the SUmpeders were to proceed to France for four more concerts, then to return to Amsterdam for a Dutch television special. Later hey are scheduled to perform in Germany. Switzerland, Bel- gium and Britain. The Stampeders won the 1971 Tuno award in the vocal-instru- mental category and another 971 award for the best-pro- duced record of the year, Sweet Woman.
