The program is being carried out by MacMillan Bloedel Ltd. on steep mountain slopes at its Cameron forest division near this pulp-mill city on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Dave vice- president responsible for logging said the company will test two concepts of helicopter the logs from the stumps directly to water for sorting into log booms and hauling them from the woods to land sorting areas. ever escalating costs of road development into our timber areas and the high costs of crew transportation have made us take a look at some other methods of ex- tricating the said Mr. Turner. He said the company also hopes to test the use of heli- copters in the logging of small patches of mature timber left behind by I linens fight1 Joint research between Agriculture Canada and the University of Washington may produce a new weapon against mosquitoes.
