Prior to selling both newspapers and retiring in September of 1971, he was well known as a coach for the Et. Francis and Canadian Legion Soccer teams. Very active n Coaldale Community affairs he is a past member of the AN and AF, Coaldale Rotary Club, Coaldale Police Commission, and was a Charter Member of the Optimist Club.
