He pleaded guilty to one charge and was remanded for sentence until Friday. This is Macdonald's tbird offence and it is likely that it will go hard with him. He issued cheques signed by himself and made payable to when there was no cash, obtaining tlie money from various stores in the city. He made no attempt to get away, and was arrested in his room yesterday' by Detective Wigg. H 3 blames his downfall to liquor.
