Settled Out of Court There were no cases on at the Dis- trict Court yesterday. The case of McCurdy vs. Coclienthaler was to have been tried, but it was settled out of court at the last minute. The case consisted of a claim by Grace .Mc- Curdy of Lathbridge for ?270 and costs from Cochenthaler, an oil broker o! Calsary. Plaintiff sent ?1700 to the defendant to Invest in oil stocks, and claims that he kept, a commission which had not been agreed upon. Cochenthaler denied these charges. Poapst Virtue, for the plaintiff, ar- ranged with Patterson McDonald for the defendant, to settle tie case cut of court, the defendant agreeing to pay 1130 and the cosli o2 the case.
