"Arcand captures life and does not overwhelm the people he depicts. With a harshness that lacks cynicism, with rigor, with justice, he reveals ttoem in their the news- paper said in a review. Kejeanne Padovani is one of Canadian films presented at the international festival which ends May 25. The other production is Wedding in WMte by Bill Fruet of Toronto. Last year, Mr. Arcand's La Mauditte Galette was shown at the Cannes festival. Resume Padovani, a dis- cussion of political morals in Quebec, stars Luce Guilbeault ia the title role. The supporting cast includes Jean Lajeunesse, Roger Lebel, Pierre Theriault and Frederique Collin. Mr. Arcand, 32, lives in Des- chambaiult, 40 miles west of Quebec City. He directed his first film as a student at the University of Montreal. He has worked extensively with the Na- tional Film Board and is now a free-lance director. Capture rebel MANILA (AP) The leaders of a rebel death squad linked to at least five murders in central Luzon has been captured, the Philippines constabulary said Wednesday. An. assassination team headed by Pepito Lopez, 25, was believed to have had a part in the 1967 killing of Vice- Governor Nicolas Feliciano of Tarlac province and four other persons.
