Kdwards, in an interview with your correspondent this morning, 'said that neither he nor the others had anything to do with the holdup, lie said they had started from Pothole lake, near Aspen Urove, in tending to prospect eastwards, to wards Armstrong, behind Urand Prairie, and returning towards Nicola, came via Uatchelor's meadows, then across Douglas lake trail, where they were arrested. When asked the reason for carrying such an armament, he rephed that prospectors usually carried fire arms, aud he did not think they carried loo much. lie said they could prove an aiiibi, and especially asked that he should not be condemned unheard. Provincial Constable Fernle is the hern of the arrest, lie has been on tho track ever since the hokl-up, and it is due to Ins information that the Northwest mounted police were able to make the arrest. Captain Seavy, supoi'intendent of the Thiol detective agency, Seattle, has been on the scene for several days, and was close at hand when -he arrest was made, lie is now favetrtlgating maturs more thoroughly.
