Lethbridge Herald, The (Newspaper) - May 14, 1974, Lethbridge, Alberta May 1974 THE LETMBHIPUE 4-H Club reports Talks were given by Chris Duane Pittman and Sheldon Thielen at the April meeting of Milk River 4-H Beef Club. A quiz concluded the program. The Del Bonita 4-H Beef Club held its April meeting Jn the form of a judging meeting at the home of Glen and Bernie Powlesland. The club judged two classes of yearling bulls and one class of yearling heifers. Ray Powlesland acted as judge. Members of Vauxhall Crossbred 4-H Beef Club met recently to discuss their plans for a trip to Expo '74 in Wash. The club meets again June 5. The April meeting of the McNally Tailor Tacks planned for achievement May 30 at McNally starting p.m. Sewn articles must be at the Murray home by 9 a.m. on May 27 for judging. Demonstrations were given by Cindy Van Leeuxyen who demonstrated the art of Mod Marlene Osmond and Marion Wilson who showed how to make a pot scrubber and Thelma Luco and Susan Rollingson who showed how to recycle A special meeting will be held May 16 at 7 p.m. at the home of Debbie Hartman. On April 3 the Timber Trails 4-H Multi Club held their regular meeting in Lundbreck School. Recent activities included a project work a photography outing and Achievement May 25. This will be held in the Cowley Hall at 2 p.m. The annual Lethbridge and District 4-H Curling held in was another overall success. Winners of the first place C. E. French Livestock Ltd. trophies Duaine Kelly Don Takaguchi and Renee Nemeth. Winners of the second place United Feeds Ltd. trophies Lonnie Wendy John Schoorl and Marie French. Winners of the third place Perlich Bros. Ltd. trophies Ross Holli Moreen McCoy and Shelly Nehr. Winners of the fourth place Southern Feeds Ltd. trophies Patty April Donna Tokariuk and Darrel Pearson. Warner 4-H Beef will hold trimming Day June 28 at 10 a.m. We also discussed the float we are having for Sport's Day on June 15 in Warner. Impromtu speeches were given by Kelly Kevin Douglas and Perry Reese. For the Mr. L. Minion talked about the 4-H Quiz. The regular meeting of Lethbridge Northern 4-H Beef Club was held May 6 at Picture Butte Municipal Library. John Hormoth mentioned the possibility of going to Pincher Creek on May 18 to learn about showmanship and judging.
