16-THE LETHBRIDQB HERALD May 1974 Musicians' strike still on Carson show using recorded music TV highlights LOS ANGELES Doc Severinsen and his band are off the Tonight show and Johnny Carson is using recorded music and a ragtime player piano. The American Federation of Musicians .went on strike against the three television networks last Friday night and pulled its musicians off network shows. As many as 1.500 musicians may be affected by the strike. The most visible effect of the strike is the absence of Severinsen's band on NBC's Tonight show. Network soap operas are using recorded music. GETS CHECK NEW YORK Actor Henry Fonda checked into hospital Friday for a readjustment of his heart pacemaker. The device which regulates the heartbeat was placed in the heart of the 68-year-old actor after he collapsed backstage during a performance of his one-man Broadway Darrow. Producers of Darrow said performances in Detroit and Denver have been cancelled but that Fonda will be ready for the show's May 27 opening in Los Angeles. HONORED SAN Calif. POSTPONE CASE Italy A judge hearing the divorce suit of American-born opera singer Anna Moffo and her Italian husband Thursday postponed the case until May 30 which might mean no divorce. Miss Moffo and Mario Lan- a producer agreed on a civil serparation last year and have sued for divorce under Italy's three-year-old divorce law.
