Danger Has Two Faces 12-05 B Movie: From the Terrace Riggs challenges Margaret Cour to 3-set match Fifty five year old Bcbby Riggs, former U.S. and Wim- bledon champion has chal- lenged 30 year old Margaret Court to a controversial best two-of-three-set match to be aired Sunday, May 13, at p.m. on Channel 13. The match originally began to take shape when Riggs chal- lenged Billie Jean King or one of the world's top woman's players to a winner take all match for which he put up 000 and San Diego Country Es- tates added more. Mrs. King declined but the offer was taken by Margaret Court. She is considered to be the top wo- man's player in the world today having won 14 of the last 15 woman's professional tour tour- naments and 61 of her last 63 singles matches. She has also won six of the seven Virginia Slims tournaments field this year beating Billie Jean King in the finals of the last tourna- ment in Chicago. Her 1973 pro our earnings have risen above he mark. Bobby Riggs is a former U.S., Vimbhdon and world profes- ional chamnton. He had retir- ed but r years ago, he re- urned to the courts in seniors :ompetition. He has won 13 na- 'onal seniors titles and still :onsiders himself the equal of many top young players. Mrs. Court, an Australian, ad only one comment on the lending match: "I don't know vho will win, but I certainly vill give it a go." Canada Trust presented with special award At the Inn on the Park, To- ronto, recently, the Federation of Ontario Naturalists present- ed its special Conservation Award to Canada Trust, spon- sor of the excellent documen- tary serins of five specials, To The Wild Country, telecast dur- ing the part season on CBC-TV To The Wild Country will re- turn to CBC-TV next season (1973-74) with another series of specials, again sponsored by Cannda Trust, and scheduled in prime time.
