LIQUOR LICENSES NOT PERMITTED Blenheim, Ont.,. May 10.-A tele-gvattt was received by the Harwich township officials from the provincial secretary's department, stating that licjuor licences in tile township would not be permitted. , Th matter has been the cause of a good deal of trouble' and litigation, as the vote last January showed only three voles in excess of the necessary three-fifths'"to carry the bye-law. An appeal to the courts wag made by the hotel men, and enough votes cast agniiiBt them were shown to be illegal aud sufficient to upset the bye-law. Nine votes were removed from the local option list. However, the department held that the technicalities advanced were not sufficient to reverse the original result. The licenses Involved ar: one at Cednr Springs, and one at Charing Cross. j PHONE 471 BOX 0S 1 WALL PAPER Our:samples of bright, attractive new goods fresli i'rom tlie makers, will be delivered to tiny address in the cit}' for your inspection, without; cost to you.
