Lethbridge Herald, The (Newspaper) - May 7, 1970, Lethbridge, Alberta Thundoy, May 7, 1970 THE IETHBRIDOE HERALD 13 Ann Landers DEAR ANN LANDERS: Is there such a thing as homo- sexuality among cats? We have a male Siamese who wants nothing to do with female cats. He has been given many opportunities to make friends with any number of attractive, healthy giri cats but he ignores them all and chums, up to the males. At first we thought it was funny. Now we aro concerned (hat he is not normal. Please let us know if our suspicions are correct. Carolina Problem DEAR N.C: I checked with five veterinarians and came away with three different answers. One veterinarian said, "Yes, your cat may well be a homosexual if he has a hormonal imbalance resulting from castration." Another said, "Cats can be become neuro- tic if subjected to neurotic people. A melancholy cat might turn gay." Another said, "Homosexuality is a natural phe- nomenon which occurs in all species, especially cows." Two veterinarians said, "There is no such tiling as homo- sexuality among animals, if we mean by homosexuality, the aberration as it occurs in humans." I'm inclined to accept the word of the last two doctors. How far should a teen-age couple go? Can necking be safe? When does it become too hot to handle?
