PAGE 3 Kentucky Derby on TV May 5 The Kentucky Derby, which many punters had already awarded to Secretariat, the wonder horse 1972, has taken a new interest with .the recent defeat of Secretariat by stable- mate Angle Light. The tradi- tional "run for the roses" now promises to be a more closely contested race, and viewers can see all the exciting action on CBC-TV Saturday, May 5 at 3 p.m. on channel 7 live and in color. Despite tin's recent loss though, Secretariat is still be- ing touted as the favorite for Hie race, which is the first leg in racing's famed "triple crown." Canadians will have special interest in the race, as Secre- tatiiat will be ridden by Ron Turcotte of Grand Falls N.B., and is trained by Lucien Laurin of Montreal. La win also trains Angle Light. There will be the usual pomp and pageantry for this the 99th running of what is regarded as one of the world's most presti- gious horse races.
