Mel Profit, a Light end with the Canadian Football League club, said benzedrine and dex- edrine are commonly used, but not sanctioned by team doctors. Profit said later he does not use drugs. Amphetamines are stimulants used in the treatment of depres- sion and obesity. But under new federal controls announced last February, use of the drugs for such purposes no longer will he allowed except under a doctor's prescription.
