Lethbridge Herald, The (Newspaper) - May 1, 1970, Lethbridge, Alberta Judge's Death Plot foiled LOS ANGELES (AP) Po- lice say a group of extremists who were "anti-Negro, anti- Jewish and anti-police" plotted to assassinate Superior Court Judge Alfred Gitelson who last February ordered integration of Los Angeles public schools. The plot was foiled, police say, by undercover policemen who infiltrated the group so well that they were chosen as the as- sassins. Police Chief Edward Davis d 1 s c 1 o s e d the asserted plot yesterday and said, the 64- year-old' judge and Ins family are under police protection. He said investigation of the case look about a month, culminating in the arrests Tuesday of Rob- ert Schurraan, 50, a retired gun shop owner, and four other men.
