The projects agreed to are not particularly large-$1 million for an engineering design study for a 250-mile road between the northern towns of Mwanza and Arusha and a $350,000 grant for a survey of Tanzania's long-term agricultural storage needs. But added to other Canadian projects scheduled for the coming year, they produce a total allocation figure of approximately $9.5 million, which is an increase of $4 million compared with last year's allocation. Not counted in the $9.5 million for Tanzania is the $14 million interest-free loan that Canada is giving the East African community, the three-country common market of which Tanzania is a member, to buy 35 diesel locomotives from M. L. W. Wor-thington Co. of Montreal.
