PACf 3 Four muppcts from junk created for NBC special HOLLYWOOD (NBC) -Jim j we wrote the piece that goes J with them." The pisce is a parody of "Hey, Look Me Over," and foresees file time that the world will be covered completely by trash. Henson was happy to hear that his Muppets looked like junk. Because that's what they were supposed to look like. Hanson and his creative team were assigned to come up with a junky specialty number for the "Keep U.S. Beautiful" special, which deals humorously with current issues, to be colorcast on the NBC Television Network Tuesday, March 27. So Henson and Co. came up with four raucous Muppets made of rubbish, named for their heads, constituting the most dominant piece of junk: Shoe, Pot, Can and Bottle. "We started thinking about this number before Christmas," said Henson. "We had talked with Bob Henry (executive producer of the show), who asked us to develop something. We put our shop people to work creating these characters and The four characters are three feet tall and are manipulated by Henson, Frank Oz, Jerry Nelson and John Lovelady. "We all saved our tin cans," said Henson, regarding the junk used to construct the Muppets, including rags, sponges, fur, a stale bagel, an old mop and even a bag of real garbage. Each of the characters has its own personality, and sound -with the Shoe a trombone, the Can a cymbal, the Bottle a drum and the Pot a whistle. Asked what would happen to these Muppets after the show, Henson smiled and said, "We'll recycle them." Mitchell credits good health to eating garlic clove a day HOLLYWOOD - Guest star Cameron Mitchell was in his dressing room taking a break in filming of a segment on NBC-TVs "SEARCH," when greeted by series star Tony Fraociosa. 'You've lost some weight Tony," observed Mitchell. "A few pounds," confirmed Franciosa. "I've been laid up with the flu and still caa't seem to really kick it." Production on the segment, "The Mattson Papars," which was seen late in February, had been interrupted for nearly a week while producer Tony Spinner juggled schedules to shoot around his ailing star. "But. you're looking great Cam," said Tony. "How did you miss getting the flu bug?" he "Simple," said Mitchell." "As ; a matter of fact, I owe It all to you Italians" "I give up," said Tony." ; "Garlic," chimed Cameron. "A clove of garlic a day. Been doing it for. years. Best medicine in the world. If it doesn't keep you from catching anything, it cures anything you catch." "One question," parried Tony. "What happens when you're sharing a scene with other actors . . - like, for instance, up close?" "No problem," responded Cam. "Just eat bunches of parsley along with it." He added, "There is even a side benefit. Kills your appetite. Turns out, it's also a pretty good diet." "Thanks Cam," said Tony, getting up to go back to work.
